New Product Features: Wealth ID Added to All Screenings
Key Wealth ID features, including stock information, have been added to the Access Manager screening product.
Wealth ID’s data identifies and quantifies the wealth of your stock market insiders with our proprietary collection
of industry-leading information. Note key stock transactions and pull up a list of all of your individuals with
in-the-money options due to expire in the next 90 days. There is a tab on all full-detail profiles (now called
“Beyond” profiles) with Wealth ID information. Print reports show individual stock holdings as well
as industry-related segmentation of your file.
All future screenings will include the Wealth ID feature – a valuable new resource that has been added at no additional
charge to you! If you are interested in conducting a new screening, please contact your salesperson or info@wealthengine.com for more information.

Feature Partner: Ketchum, Fundraising Counsel and Services
WealthEngine partner Ketchum, founded in 1919, has partnered with more than 11,000 organizations to raise over
$13 billion in contributions. This year more than 75 percent of Ketchum’s clients in active campaigns have
received the largest gifts in their history.
Prospect research tools often play a key role in Ketchum campaigns. Sue Acri, Senior Vice President at Ketchum,
shares a couple recent campaign stories. The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium has raised more than $10 million toward
the $19 million needed to fund several initiatives including its new major exhibit, Water’s Edge, which will feature
polar bears, walruses and sea otters. Acri says, “The organization had been traditionally dependent on the
generosity of Pittsburgh’s foundations and needed to look for private donors in order to make its campaign a
success. The Zoo used prospect-research screening to identify potential major-gift prospects from its membership
lists. The key was to screen individuals who already had some connection and then to build deeper relationships with
the Zoo in order to interest them in the Zoo’s vision for the future.”
Ketchum’s recommendation for prospect screening tools has also contributed to the early successes of the $87 million
campaign at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute Foundation in Tampa, Florida. This institution, the
only Florida-based NCI comprehensive cancer center, launched this fundraising effort in order to complete its Research
Tower Project and to endow research positions. Through WealthEngine screenings, the cancer center has identified
prospects and established a plan of best approach for each prospect – whether it be personal major-gift solicitation,
direct mail, or strategic calling.
For more information about Ketchum and the firm’s fundraising consulting services, contact Sue Acri at sacri@viscern.com, or visit Ketchum at http://ketchum.viscern.com.
Success Story: WealthEngine Reports Lead to Major Gifts for Massachusetts Eye & Ear
Melissa Paul, Director of Major Gifts & Associate Director, Capital Campaign at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary
(MEEI), is a regular user of WealthEngine’s DM0 reports. It’s certainly paid off for her and her institution.
Melissa credits these WealthEngine reports for two $100,000 gifts received over the past two years.
How does Melissa’s organization use the DM0 reports? Each month, development staff have WealthEngine run DM0 reports
on all new patients who visit MEEI during that time period. Then, the development office sends a letter from the MEEI
President which describes the organization’s activities related to caring for patients and conducting research. The
mailing also includes a reply card that recipients return if they are interested in MEEI events or in receiving more
information about the research of their MEEI physician.
Patients who respond are added to the development’s prospect pool, and the WealthEngine screenings also help MEEI
determine which of these individual prospects warrant follow-up. This solicitation and screening process is not
only HIPAA compliant, but it’s also getting six-figure results.
For more information about ongoing screenings and DM0 reports please contact your sales representative or customerservice@wealthengine.com.

Staff Profile: Jay Frost, Chief Strategy Officer
Jay Frost, Chief Strategy Officer, joined WealthEngine in August 2005 following the company’s merger with Wealth ID,
where he served as President & CEO. Currently, Jay is involved in exploring new data relationships for WealthEngine
here in the U.S. and building products and partnerships in in other countries. He also is a sought-after speaker on
wealth & philanthropy, prospect research and international giving, making thirty presentations to organizations around
the world in 2005 alone.
Jay has a long history in the nonprofit sector. Among his past positions, he has served as Director of Major Gifts at
the International Rescue Committee and as Development Associate at Meridian International Center. He says, “Like many
WealthEngine customers, we did not have the time or manpower for extensive internal prospect research at either
organization. We were writing proposals, working events, and doing the dozens of other tasks required of development.
But, prospect research is a central function of raising money. It enables an organization to be both
more efficient and effective by better understanding its market.”
As his career evolved, Jay devoted more time to prospect research, working as a member of the APRA board, writing and
speaking frequently and serving on the CASE Industry Advisory Council. Throughout that time, he has worked to promote
the use of tools which help development professionals know more about their constituents – and, in turn, raise more
money.
“The marriage between WealthEngine and Wealth ID--the two firms which pioneered asset screening and online asset
research--allows us to take our products to many more customers. No longer is prospect research just for big
institutions. Our tools can be used by any nonprofit organization seeking to better understand its constituency and
wanting to raise more money,” explains Jay.
Jay may be reached at jfrost@wealthengine.com or 240/722-4376.
