New Report: Best Practices for Prospect Research in Higher Education Fundraising, 2nd ed.

New WhitepaperSecond Edition Introduces Two New Best Practices, Highlights Impact of Social Media and Shares 6 Case Studies Focused on Improving Fundraising Results.

As the fundraising landscape changes, WealthEngine will periodically refresh some of our most popular reports to reflect new trends and realities. Just released this January, Best Practices for Prospect Research in Higher Education Fundraising, Second Edition, is a significant update to the original publication released in the Fall of 2009. The new edition contains new research and survey findings, case studies and trends in education-based fundraising intended to facilitate knowledge sharing and help educational institutions enhance their fundraising effectiveness.

“Certainly, the economy has been a big factor in fundraising outcomes but we also saw the use of social media as a popular driver of constituent research and engagement,” said Sally Boucher, WealthEngine’s Director of Research and the report’s primary author. “In addition, we’ve found a surge in the application of data-driven fundraising strategies, particularly in the use of predictive modeling and analytics to identify stronger prospect pools, prompting faster, more successful solicitations.”

The report outlines ten best practices, details six cases studies on institutions of varying sizes and fundraising backgrounds, and provides advice from industry experts. In addition, helpful worksheets and guides are provided for the practical application of these best practices.

“WealthEngine has the unique opportunity to listen and learn from our more than 800 clients in the educational sector and then share our findings with the larger community,” said WealthEngine CEO, Tony Glowacki. “We believe that prospect research is the foundation of fundraising. By collectively leveraging what works, we as a community can raise more money for our institutions, faster and with greater success.”
