Data Brief: Are You Getting the Most Out of Your Wealth Screening?

Giving HistoryWhen submitting an input file for a screening it’s helpful to include additional data from your organization’s Donor Management System (DMS). Whether you’re working towards a capital campaign or looking for your next prospect for planned giving, your data combined with WealthEngine’s wealth scores can provide greater insight into the right individuals.

We highly recommend you include these fields within your input file for screening:

ID Including the constituent ID number from within your database is essential if you plan on integrating your WealthEngine results into your DMS
Giving Information Submitting a donor or prospect’s giving history allows greater accuracy for solicitation recommendations and calculates a Total RFM score that rank orders your screening prospects based on their giving criteria.
Client Attributes Up to 15 client attribute fields may be included within your input file. These are often attributes clients may wish to query on in conjunction with their screening results.

What’s the Value in Including Giving History?
When you include your specific giving information within your data file, we’re able to include that giving in our Estimated Giving Capacity score. We also calculate a Total RFM score which compares individuals within your screening file to measure their recency, frequency and monetary (RFM) value ranking their affinity to your organization based on your supplied giving criteria. These scores provide valuable insight which can further be used to identify characteristics that make up an individual who positively impacts your specific mission.

Giving Information to Include:

  • Total Gift Amount
  • Largest Gift Amount
  • Last Gift Amount
  • Number of Gifts
  • Largest Gift Date
  • Last Gift Date

Got Any Additional Client Attributes?
Did you know you can also submit up to fifteen different client attribute fields with your screening data? You can benefit by having client supplied attributes returned within your screening file allowing for further segmentation of your results. Now you may query by both wealth data and additional interests or attributes about an individual. Many clients have the need to use specific fields from their DMS in conjunction with wealth scores before they decide which results they want to fully integrate back into their DMS. Some examples include: internal ratings, prospect manager, major gift officer assigned, or specific campaigns individuals have given to in the past.

Uploading a file for screening?
Remember to include detailed comments about your file and any additional instructions you feel we should know. You may also revisit the WealthEngine file upload page to check the status of your file.
