Fletcher's Office of Development and Alumni Relations plans to grow its annual fund program to the $1.5 million mark, in part by increasing alumni participation to 35-40% in the next five years as well as continuing to focus on leadership giving ($1,000+) to the Fund.
The Assistant Director of Annual Giving, The Fletcher School will be responsible for working with the Director of The Fletcher Fund to champion Fletcher's Associates Program (leadership donors to the Fund), especially at the Young Associate level (graduates of the last decade leadership giving). The Assistant Director of Annual Giving should engage in at least 240 substantive contacts with prospects including 30+ face-to-face meetings each fiscal year. He/she will:
Basic Requirements:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in fundraising OR an Associate's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in fundraising. The selected candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office and windows based computer programs, as well as some complex database experience (Advance, Millennium, etc.). The Assistant Director of Annual Giving must be able to demonstrate superior interpersonal skills and the ability to manage relationships and multiple tasks with ease. She/he must be energetic, intellectually curious and a good listener. The Assistant Director of Annual Giving must have a strong service orientation and be able to champion a volunteer/donor friendly environment in a complex University setting. He/she must also be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
A graduate degree is preferred. International experience through study abroad, knowledge of a second (foreign) language, or life experience having traveled abroad is strongly preferred. Experience in working with a Fundraising and Donor Information Management System/Database is preferred, but comfort and experience using other complex technology systems will be considered.
Special Work Schedule Requirements:
Some domestic travel and weekend/evening work will be required.
